Three Shows to Watch Instead of Working

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Saint Mary's chapter.

Right now, it feels like everyone on campus is swamped with homework, essays, exams, and deadlines, and as we inch closer and closer to December, I’m feeling the pressure. While it’s important to get everything done for school, it’s also important to take time to de-stress and relax. One way that I do this is by taking an hour or two to watch a few episodes of my favorite shows! While it sometimes means I have to stay up later to get homework done, there are some awesome new shows right now that I just can’t resist.

Here’s my current top three must-see shows that are worth sacrificing work and sleep for!

Bob’s Burgers

Now in it’s ninth season, Bob’s Burgers has never failed to make me smile. Follow this hilarious and very relatable family as they deal with the ups and downs of daily life in their restaurant and pray that the show will never be canceled! Catch Bob’s Burgers on Sundays at 8:30/7:30 Central on FOX.

Supernatural

Fourteen seasons later, Sam and Dean are still killing monsters and looking good doing it, and I’m not complaining one bit! This season, Sam, Cas, and Jack are still reeling from Michael’s possession of Dean, and are trying (once again, unsurprisingly) to save Dean while the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Tune in Thursdays at 8/7 Central on the CW.

The Haunting of Hill HouseFull disclosure, I am currently watching this show with my friends for the second time and we cannot get enough. Hill House is a Netflix original that is part horror, part psychological thriller, part family drama, but ALL incredible show. Follow the Crain family of the past and present as they battle demons that lurk inside both the walls of Hill House and inside the family’s heads. With 10 episodes averaging an hour each, you could definitely stream the whole show this weekend… just saying.

So get your friends together, make snacks, do some homework while you watch (or not) and enjoy!
