This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAIC chapter.

I walked out to the top of my hill,

Surveyed the tennis courts and the highways below,

Imagined falling through the cracking ice into a paralyzing lake.

Envisioning my core becoming one with the solid earth beneath,

I stood my ground on the frosted grass,

And sent hysterical, cathartic screams into the clouds.

Sending ripples through the sky,

Magnetic waves into the earth,

So the world can be moved by my vibrations.

A primal way to connect with reality and everything around me,

Accept and breathe with cleansed lungs and a cleared mind,

To reset my body so I can live life anew.

I am a second year student at SAIC, currently focusing my art practice on printmaking and writing, but I also love to make collages and experiment with video, sound, and installation. I typically like to spend my free time learning more about astrology and tarot, going out into nature, or watching a movie.
