As great as it is, college can be a struggle. However, these eight apps should make it a little easier.
1. Houseparty
Houseparty lets you video chat with multiple people at once, so it’s good for connecting with your friends from home all at once, or figuring out what to do for the night with your friends without actually leaving the comfort of your bed. Hello Facetime 2.0!
2. Uber/Lyft
No one wants to be the DD for the weekend? Uber. Don’t have a car but still want to go to Milkcraft? Uber. You can literally have someone pick you up in a few minutes and it usually doesn’t cost more than $15.
3. Venmo
Say goodbye to running to the ATM every time you owe your friends money for Chinese food. With Venmo, you can transfer exact amounts of money to anyone with the app from your card to theirs.
4. Find My Friends
We all have that friend that always seems to go missing at parties or at the club. Or the friend who wants to hang out with that guy she met on Tinder. Find My Friends will guide you to your friends, or just let you track where they are. Safety is key!
5. Pinterest
From Halloween costumes to dorm decorations to outfits for class, Pinterest is actually a life saver. You can search anything as simple as “shoes” or more complicated things such as “cute outfits for the winter,” and thousands of cute options will pop up.
6. Quizlet
We are here for school after all, right? This app will most definitely help you score higher on tests and quizzes. Basically every topic and chapter is on there and if it’s not, you can make your own. And it isn’t just flashcards – you can make quizzes, play memory games, etc. Might as well make studying a little less painful.
7. 7-Minute Workout
We’ve all been guilty of saying that we’ll go to the gym or go for a run but somehow end up binge watching Netflix instead. If you’re sick of feeling guilty, download this app. As the name says, 7 Minute Workout provides you with a butt-kicking workout for 7 minutes. Although it is important to go to the gym a few times a week, this is good for the days you just don’t (or don’t want to) have the time.
8. GroupMe
This one is a love-hate relationship. This is app is good for staying up-to-date with all of the various clubs, sororities, sports, and everything else you were told to join when you got here. The only problem is, the notifications always seem to pile up.
