6 Exciting Things Happening At Rutgers To Ease Your End of The Semester Blues

With the end of the semester around the corner, Rutgers is offering many activities to allow students to de-stress. We get it, finals season is dreadful. All these deadlines probably have you dying and drowning in stress and work. However, you can take a breath and enjoy yourself with some of these activities. 

Sunset Kayaking: Rutgers Recreation – Friday, May 3rd 5-9p.m. at Class of 1914 Boathouse

If you enjoy the outdoors, join Rutgers Recreation as they paddle down the Raritan river while basking in the beautiful sunset. Get tickets to experience the wonders of nature as you take some time for yourself in the midst of the chaos of finals.   

Late Knight: 90’s Night –

Friday, May 3rd 9p.m. College Avenue Student Center

If you are looking for something to do on a Friday night that doesn’t involve frats or the parties scene, this event is perfect for you! You can relax and enjoy yourself with 90s board games, a retro photo booth, retro video games, make your own hats, slap bracelets, t-shirts, inflatable twister, food, DJ, raffles, & more. HerCampus Rutgers: Love the Skin You Are In –

Monday, May 6th 5-7p.m. SAC Raritan River Lounge

Join your favorite girl squad for our last event in our Empowerment series. This event focuses on ways that you can empower yourself from within by increasing your self-esteem and empowering your mental health. Love Your Skin is an event to celebrate the inner and outer beauty of the skin you are in. There will be free food, refreshments, D-I-Y journals, D-I-Y sugar body scrubs, and giveaways throughout the entire event. Be sure to stop by to meet some of your favorite Her Campus Rutgers girls!

RUPA Presents: Ice Cream Trucks – May 6th and 7th

You can sign up for the facebook event here. RUPA (Rutgers University Programming Association) offers FREE ice cream with a traveling ice cream truck to help celebrate the end of the semester. On May 6th and May 7th you can visit the truck as it travels to all 5 campuses. Follow RUPA on Twitter and Facebook for updates on the location of the truck!

Yoga in the Park – Tuesday May 7th 12p.m. Deiner Park, New Brunswick, New Jersey

I can’t think of a better way to relax and unwind from the stress that accompanies the end of the semester than by participating in Yoga in the Park. This event offers many more fun activities if yoga isn’t necessarily your thing. There will be FREE henna tattoos, chair massage, giveaways, and crafts.

Study All Night At Zimmerli Art Museum –

May 7th – May 8th. Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University

Did you ever want to spend a night at the museum? Prepare for finals by studying all night at the Zimmerli Art Museum. This event offers free food, a free drink, and free entry for students to take advantage of the space at the Zimmerli Art Museum to study. It is a fun event and offers you the opportunity to study outside of the library. Find more information about the event here.

Although May envelopes a lot of doom and gloom from impending finals, you can relax and enjoy with some of these free events happening at Rutgers. Grab some friends and enjoy the last few weeks of the semester!
