Potato chips and Twizzlers are a godsend, but let’s try a healthier (and even yummier) recipe! This Chocolate Chip spread will serve as a good study snack, plus it’s healthy! So you will not feel guilty about indulging in a few bites of it. I discovered this recipe from Chef Belle of Kitchen 19 in Hammonton, New Jersey.
Here is what you will need in order to create this lavish snack!
1 can of chick peas (Garbanzo beans)
1/8 tsp of salt (Why salt? Believe it or not, it makes things taste sweeter!)
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp of Nut (peanut butter, or if you are allergic, try sun butter! Sun Butter is made up of mashed sunflower seeds and tastes the same!)
2 tbsp of Honey (Or Agave or Maple syrup)
2 tbsp of whole roasted flaxseeds ground
About ¼ cup of almond milk
3 tbsp of chocolate chips (42g)
Time to mix it up!
Put the chick peas, salt, vanilla extract, peanut butter, honey and flaxseeds in the food processor (blender).
Then add almond milk and puree until the texture is smooth.
Take out the blade of the bender and add chocolate chips and fold in with a spatula.
And….viola!
Enjoy with animal crackers, fruit or graham crackers!
