Homecoming season is approaching ladies and gentlemen! We all know how difficult it can be to manage your daily activities along with preparing for homecoming.  How are you suppose to write two papers, get your hair and nails done, and participate in all of your extracurricular activities? Oh, and we can’t forget actually attending the main event! Sounds hectic right? Well we have got some tips and tricks to help you through it all!

1.     Stay organized! – The key to making it through any stressful time in your life, including the stress of homecoming, is to keep your life in as much order as possible. So a week or two before the big event, find your crumpled up syllabus at the bottom of your backpack and find everything that is due. Highlight it, write it down, or maybe even create reminders in your phone, but just be sure to put it in a place that you will see it.

2.     Shop in advance – For anyone like me, you never have to ask twice when shopping is called for, but it always seems like I have to scurry around at the last minute to find my outfit for a big event.  I’ve have learned from my mistakes this time and I hope that you will too!  Get your outfit and all of your accessories in advance! And if you can’t find that perfect outfit, at least have a detailed idea of what your looking for so its much easier to piece everything together.

3.     Sleep! Sleep! Sleep! – The last thing that anyone needs are puffy red eyes from a lack of sleep. Staying organized and planning ahead will go hand in hand with making enough time to sleep.  Sleep is not only a necessity for your regular schedule, but it’s beyond mandatory when you have a big even, like homecoming, to stress about.

4. Take lots of pictures! – This one shouldn’t be to hard to remember, because most of us now capture every moment we can, and post it right to our social media. So through all of the chaos be sure to keep some storage space free on your phone, and your battery fully charged! Don’t forget to smile for the camera!

5.       Keep calm and have fun! – In the middle of it all we often get so stressed out that we forget to keep it fun.  Just take a breath, and live in the moment!
