One of the most important things a person can do is romanticize their own life, falling completely head-over-heels for themselves and the world around them. Don’t worry babes, I’m here to tell you what that means exactly and how to do it!

Be the Main Character

You are the main character of your own life, and if you don’t feel like it at times, make it happen. Do not forget it. It is not anyone else’s life but yours, so stop comparing yourself to friends or to the superficial influencers and celebrities of our generation.

Social media creates false expectations of beauty that no human can accomplish. Love yourself for all that you are because you are the main character and you deserve all the love in the world, starting from the love you give yourself! You should never compare your perfectly imperfect self to anyone else. Why? Because you are the main freaking character in your own life- own it.

Notice the Little Things

It is so easy to be in a bad mood. Life throws curve balls at us left and right and if we focus on all the bad things that happen, we will miss all the beautiful little things in between. Life will begin to pass us by without acknowledging the beauty within the madness.

Don’t let negativity define how your day, week, or year is going to play out. Stop to take a second and admire all the people, things, and abilities that make you the masterpiece you were put on this planet to be.

Also, BE the little things. As you’re walking down the street, give someone a smile or even a compliment. You never know what people are going through and you never know the impact one little smile can make on someone’s day. The little things are the most important, so don’t let them go unnoticed.

Be Your Own Soulmate

Who cares if a girl is taller or shorter than you, or skinnier or thicker? As a wise man once said, “You’re stuck in your body for the rest of your life and if you don’t love that body and love yourself the way you should, who else will?” -Harry Jowsey.

This quote stuck with me because it is so true. Fall in love with yourself, because it is your life and no one else in the world can take that away from you. At times it can be hard to love yourself due to the pressures of other’s opinions and expectations but let me let you in on a little secret… other people’s opinions of you are none of your business. Be confident no matter what because we’re not going to get another life, so we might as well make the most of the one we’re given.

Look at the Big picture

If you’re ever having a bad day, stop, breathe, and take a look around. We are tiny things in a huge world around us; one that we have yet to fully discover. We have the ability to overcome, do, and be anything. Love yourself infinitely. Hold your loved ones close and yourself even closer. Start romanticizing your life a little bit every day, and you won’t regret it.
