With October behind me, the only thing spookier than Halloween was turning 20! While 19 came with many perks and much excitement, something just seemed daunting about the prospects of hitting the big 2-0. Over halfway through my undergrad degree and not the slightest clue what I’d like to eat for breakfast, let alone do with my life. So I began to reflect on these past 20 years and after some much-needed journal time, I realized just how much I’ve learned and how far I’ve come. Below are my top 10 life lessons to live your greatest and most rewarding life!
- Be flexible with yourself and your goals
-
Take care of your health early
- Get to know yourself and learn to enjoy your own company
- 5 close friends are better than fifty mediocre ones
- Don’t sacrifice the people who matter for chasing the ones who don’t
- Make time to be with the people you care about most
-
Appreciate who you were, love who you are, and work towards who you’d like to be
- Focus less on what you don’t have and be grateful for all the things you do
- Learn to say yes and welcome more adventures into your life
- Let go of grudges – being angry is a waste of time and energy
Cheers to the next 20 years. Good luck and all the best!
