7 Ways to Spend the Holidays in Kingston

Kingston is a city filled with exciting places to explore. If you live in Kingston or are simply staying in the city for the holidays this year, here is a list of cool events for you.

1. Lumina Borealis

This festival truly shows the beauty of winter in a magical outdoor trail. This hike is filled with artistic sculptures and interactive elements. It is a great place for photography and for enjoying the season’s beauty. The festival is open to all ages and more information on it can be found here!

2. Kingston Holiday Market

Not sure where to get your Christmas presents? The Kingston Holiday Market features all kinds of adorable gifts for everyone. It runs on weekends from December 14th to 22nd. It is located at Wellington Street. For more details you can check out this Facebook page.

3. Candlelight Christmas Concert

If you love Christmas music, the Candlelight Christmas Concert is for you. It runs from December 19th to 22nd at the Isabel Bader Centre. It’s a great way to enjoy music with your loved ones. More information can be found here.

4. Skating at Market Square

Everyone knows the best place to skate is at Market Square. You can bring some friends and grab a cup of hot cocoa to warm yourself up at this outdoor skating rink. You might even catch a glimpse of Santa on Saturdays!

5. Skiing at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area

If you love to ski or would love to try it, you can visit the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area to try out some slopes. If skiing isn’t your thing, you can try snowshoeing! They are open every day starting at 7:30 p.m.

6. Tobogganing at Fort Henry

A great place to go tobogganing is at Fort Henry! It features the perfect hills to let you slip and slide around with your toboggan. It’s only a short drive from campus.

7. Watch Hockey

Nothing beats spending the day at a hockey game with your friends! You can watch the Kingston Frontenacs this season at the Leon’s Centre in downtown Kingston. Go Frontenacs!
