Just this Wednesday morning, Time Magazine announced their Person of the Year and it is no surprise. Among the nine candidates, Taylor Swift came out on top and was named the 2023 Person of the Year. The finalists included the Hollywood Strikers, Xi Jinping (the Chinese President), Taylor Swift, Sam Altman (CEO of OpenAI), Trump Prosecutors, Barbie, Vladimir Putin (Russian President), King Charles III, and Jerome Powel (Chairman of the Federal Reserve).

This is no surprise because the pop star has been on a roll this year. Not only has she been on tour all year, both in the United States and in South America, but she also released Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version). As if that was not enough, she also dropped the Eras Tour movie in theaters all across the nation. She then captured America’s heart when it was revealed that she was dating football star Travis Kelce and she started attending numerous games. If that all wouldn’t convince you to choose her as Person of the Year, it was later revealed that she gave huge bonuses to all of the truck drivers of her tours and the personnel involved. She is not only a fascinating person but also a wonderful and kind-hearted person.

As a fan, the best part of this whole experience is that Taylor Swift revealed quite a bit in her article with Time following her appointment as Person of the Year. The article started with Swift revealing the beginning of her music career and her lost opportunity to perform with Kenny Chesney. She then spilled some tea about how her relationship with Travis Kelce actually began around July. Finally, she stated that the vault songs for Reputation (Taylor’s Version) are “fire” which is a very exciting revelation. Overall, I highly suggest reading the whole article as much more is revealed.

In conclusion, Time Magazine could not have picked a better and more prevalent person to represent the 2023 Person of the Year and all of the Swifties are here for it!
