Resident of Rye, New York. A senior at Providence College studying sociology and history as a double major, with added expertise in Mamma Mia karaoke.

Brenna exercising her Mamma Mia karaoke expertise

“Brenna Smith is really cool. She’s an expert on all things Janet (from the Good Place, but you knew that) and is down to watch any sporting match with a homie. If you take her out to dinner, be sure to send her the menu first (because she hates tomatoes). Honestly do not know what I would do without Brenna (Thanks Professor Edwards). She has a heart of gold, and an incredible sense of humor. 10/10 would recommend to a friend” – Katie Cullen (roommate, friend, fellow menu-looker-upper)

Q: What is your favorite place in Friartown?

A: My favorite place in Friartown is the underrated building Howley Hall. But yeah, I love that building. I spend a lot of time there. I also just love walking around campus, it’s so beautiful.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

A: So there’s a few. I really want to go to Vancouver because I love Canada and Hockey, and it’s really pretty there. I also want to go to Italy because I am half Italian… but I don’t like tomato sauce.

Q: What’s on your calendar in your room?

A: The Canadian Prime Minister.

Q: Who is your favorite professor?

A: Kara Cebulko.  She supervises my research project and gives me the best advice on literally everything.

Q: What for you is a deal breaker in a relationship?

A: If he doesn’t want a chicken waffle appetizer at our wedding, it’s off!

Q: What was the coolest class you have taken at PC?

A: Immigration. It was something I knew very little about beforehand and it was super interactive and forced you to think beyond the extent of your knowledge and push your own intellectual boundaries. And it was after that class that I got more interested in international affairs and started my research project, which is international student athletes and their experiences at American colleges.

Q: Favorite szn?

A: My favorite szn is hockey and Olympic szn. Those are truly my favorite szns.

Q: Veggie Sticks or Veggie Straws?

A: Straws, I was disappointed when I accidentally bought veggie sticks.

Q: What are involved in on campus?

A: I’m in Providence Immigration Rights Coalition.  We meet bi-weekly and talk about current issues in immigration and it’s a lot of learning, educating, and expanding your knowledge.

Q: What is your current favorite show?

A: The Good Place, I resonate with Janet on a spiritual level. Although, unlike her I am a girl.

*Interviewer Interjection*: But also like Janet, it is a fact that Brenna is attractive.

Q: If you could be any animal, what would it be?

A: I would be a penguin. I truly am a winter baby, I like winter. I’ve always really liked penguins, and I don’t know I think glaciers are really pretty and it would be really nice to live there. I also played Club Penguin when I was younger and I imagine that’s what it is like to live like a penguin.

Q: Final question, what is your favorite karaoke song?

A: Definitely Mamma Mia. If you haven’t seen me and Megan belt that one out, you haven’t truly lived. Just ask our roommates!
