I’m not sure if my experiences are universal here, but sometimes the best part of every holiday is the food. More specifically: the sweets! Whether you’re heading home, staying on campus, or traveling somewhere this break, here are some easy desserts to celebrate with.

1. Resurrection Buns

Despite the name, you don’t have to be religious to enjoy these! I learned this recipe as a kid at church, but I still love to make them. Simply cover a marshmallow (colorful or not) with store-bought dough, brush the tops with butter, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the top, and bake them. The idea is that the marshmallow — Jesus — melts and disappears from the roll — the tomb. The photo is by Southern Living.

2. Peanut Butter Blossoms

These are a classic! Though I’m still not sure what the blossom part is — is the Hershey’s kiss a flower bud, or the center of the cookie petals? Either way, peanut butter blossoms are super yummy. Just make or buy your favorite peanut butter cookie dough and bake as directed. Then press a Hershey’s kiss into the top right after taking them out of the oven. The photo is by Sugar Spun Run.

3. White Chocolate Snack Mix

Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave. Then, mix in whatever you want. My family uses pretzels, cereal, nuts, and m&ms! Spread the mixture onto parchment and allow it to cool, then break into pieces. The photo is by Life’s Ambrosia.
