What do you love most about UP?
I love the community environment that UP has to offer. Walking around the school and seeing my friends always brighten up my day. All the students here seem happy and I can always count on a smile back at me while crossing paths with other students.
What’s your favorite part of being a nursing major?
I enjoy interacting with individuals who are in need of care or attention. Some individuals don’t get that treatment, so I really cherish the time I spend with individuals and fellow peers. There are so many great learning opportunities that the program offers and
Do you have any words of advice for upcoming nursing students?
Turn. Cough. And Deep Breath.
Study hard and don’t forget to believe in yourself. I think that’s the biggest thing in succeeding in the nursing program is to put in hard work as well to have the confidence in yourself that you can accomplish all the challenges that would come your way. You can do it!
Where’s your favorite place to eat in Portland?
I love Salt N Straw! Duh, obviously because who doesn’t like ice cream. I’m lactose intolerant but that doesn’t stop me. Lactaid pills were made for a reason. The reason to allow everyone eat ice cream.
What’s the best spot to hang out in Portland?
Cathedral Park is THE place to hang out. I enjoy going for a run around the park, laying on a blanket while doing homework, and having a mini picnic with my friends while we eat all our favorite snacks. It’s also under the St. John Bridge, so beautiful!
