One of my favorite ways to get ready for Halloween is to watch  movies. Scary movies and I don’t mix, so I like to stick with some childhood classics, especially Disney Channel Original Movies. With Fall Break next week, there is no better way to unwind from the stress of midterms than with a childhood movie and some tasty treats! Here are 5 DCOMS to help you bring in the Halloween season and kick off your Fall Break.

1. Halloweentown (1998)

This movie is an all-time childhood classic. Who didn’t wish every time they got on the school bus that it would take them to Halloweentown instead of school? For those of you who haven’t seen this before, the movie’s about a teenage girl who learns she’s a witch and has to save the town where her Grandma lives. This town isn’t an ordinary town, it’s a town where it’s Halloween 24/7, 365 days of the year. What makes this even better is that there are 4 Halloweentown movies. Can you say movie marathon?!

2. Twitches (2005)

If you loved the TV show Sister Sister while growing up, you’ve got to watch this. Tia and Tamera Mowry play twin sisters who are separated at birth only to be reunited on their 21st birthday. These aren’t your ordinary twins though. Nope, they are twin witches! The twins need to quickly learn how to use their magic to save their magic kingdom and their birth mom. If you like the first Twitches, make sure to check out the sequel,Twitches Too!

3. Under Wraps (1997)

What would you do if you found a mummy? Personally, I would run for the hills. In this Disney classic though, three 12-year-olds accidentally bring it to life.

4. Phantom of the Megaplex (2002)

Everyone loves a trip to the movie theater, but maybe not this one. Someone or something in a black cape is causing trouble at the local theater, but no one can figure it out. Can you say creepy? Until this is solved, I would stick with Netflix.

5. Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire (2000)

It’s pretty safe to say you and your siblings wouldn’t want this date to turn into a relationship. A vampire for a new step-dad? No thanks! But wait it gets better, you and your siblings are the ones who set your mom up on the date! Totally by accident, but still. You’ll have to watch to see how siblings Adam and Chelsea Hansen handle this bat situation. Get it?
