Junior year is always the hardest

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

Junior year is always seems to be the hardest year whether it is high school or college. Freshman and sophomore year, everyone is still adjusting and finding their voice, while senior year everyone is just ready to move onto the next chapter. Junior year though, that’s when it seems like everyone is in a different place in their lives while still under the umbrella of being a junior.

This is typically the year that everyone starts looking and beginning internships and really getting a feel for life after college. For some people, that’s a hard pill to swallow. While for others, everything they’ve ever dreamed of is finally falling into place. At this point, many feel that for the first time they aren’t on the same page as some of their best friends…and that is okay.

Adulthood creeps up on you. The real world creeps up on you. We all adjust differently, too. As long as you remember to keep your head up and your eye on the prize (that lovely and VERY expensive piece of paper you will be receiving in just four semesters) you will be okay. Junior year is supposed to be crazy. It is sort of like the last ditch effort to ensure you will have the future you always dreamed of.

Eventually you and your friends will be on the same playing field again, and you will be so proud of yourself for trudging through all the trials and tribulations of being a junior in college.

So next time when you’re in your room fretting because you feel like you’re doing this whole college thing for nothing, take some deep breaths and remember that it’s not all for nothing when you’re destined to be something.
