I grew up in a small town in upstate New York where I was surrounded by apple orchards and farms. My town even had an event each year in the fall called Apple Fest, where the whole town and surrounding towns would gather together for a fun day with family events including apple bobbing, spin the wheel to win a pie and so much more.

One of my favorite fall comfort snacks growing up has been an apple crisp, whether it was from the local orchards, farmers markets or the infamous apple festival. So, I decided to share a short and easy recipe for the fall time of how to make one at home!

Recipe For Comfort

  • You’ll need:
    3 Apples
    2 tbsp Flour
    2 tbsp Sugar
    1 tbsp Cinnamon
    1/4 cup Brown Sugar
    1/4 cup Oats
    2 tbsp Butter (cold)

Start with preheating your oven to 375 degrees and toss the apples (peeled and diced) into a bowl with the sugar, cinnamon and flower. After mixing, separate the coated apples into 4 oven safe bowls of choice. In a small bowl, whisk together more flour, brown sugar and the oats and you can do this part with your hands! When the mixture finally clumps together, sprinkle it over the apples that you put into the oven safe bowls and toss then in the oven for about 18-20 minutes.

Then your apple crisps are ready to go! Feel free to top with anything of choice. I like butter or cool whip on top of mine!
