Pressed Juicery Cleanse: Vitamin C Half-Day Fast

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.

Today, I successfully completed Pressed Juicery’s Half-Day Vitamin C fast because I had a bit of a cold last week. Each drink is labeled in the order you are supposed to drink them in spanning in intervals of 2 hours. After drinking 4 juices for breakfast and lunch, you are supposed to have a normal meal for dinner.

It consists of four drinks and one shot. I paid $22.50 for the whole thing and got an extra shot for free thanks to the Pressed Juicery membership (which I highly recommend because it is basically free and you can cancel whenever and restart whenever…check their website for more info).

I started my day at 10 a.m. with the Greens 3. It is 140 calories and contains apple, cucumber, celery, lemon, spinach, kale, parsley, and ginger. Ginger is not my favorite taste, but it is not overbearing in this drink. I also had the Probiotic shot which is 20 calories and contains apple juice, red cabbage juice, lemon juice, ginger juice, and probiotic bacillus coagulans.

At 11 a.m. I bought a trenta unsweetened green tea from Starbucks. It is 0 calories and has a whole lot of caffeine which is necessary for me to keep awake especially on a low energy day like this.

At 12 p.m. I had the Orange Turmeric Apple Lemon juice. It is 160 calories and contains orange juice, apple juice, aloe vera, turmeric juice, lemon juice, and black pepper. This juice was pretty yummy! I also had the Elderberry shot which is 30 calories and contains water, honey, elderberry powder, lemon juice, cinnamon, and ground cloves.

At 2 p.m. I had Citrus 3. This juice is 140 calories and contains grapefruit, aloe vera, and mint. I didn’t really like this juice because it left a bad taste in my mouth. But, I am not a big grapefruit fan, to begin with.

At 4 p.m. I had Roots 3. This juice is 200 calories with apple juice, lemon juice, ginger juice, and beetroot juice. I didn’t like this juice either because I am not a huge fan of ginger and this juice tastes a lot like it.

Finally, I ended my day with Taco Tuesday at Duke’s Malibu!

Today was good. I felt refreshed after this half-day fast. For the most part, I was good. All in all, I highly recommend the Vitamin C booster, especially if you’re just getting over a cold.

Hello! My name is Emma. I am a student at Pepperdine University and I am studying Philosophy with the hopes of obtaining my MFT license after I graduate in 2021. I was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Waco, Texas. That being said, I am avid supporter of Baylor sports and TexMex! I believe mental health is the most important thing to maintain in college. Some ways that I maintain mine include (but are not limited to) boxing, Disney, and beach days with my friends out here in Malibu!

This is my senior year of college and I'm a Public Relations major with a Creative Writing outside concentration. I was born and raised in So-Cal and love it so much I couldn't go too far. As much as South California is my home, I adore traveling and learning about other cultures. A Disney fan to the core you can find me watching any of their movies, or breaking my bank account at Disneyland, and if not I'll probably be reading, writing, or enjoying the Malibu climate.
