Best Coffee in the City for Your Midterm Study Breaks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pace chapter.

With the stressful season of midterms coming up soon, the best break from countless hours of studying is always a warm drink in hand to cut the chill of the city snow. Throughout my time living here in New York City, I have gravitated toward the same place, same sips of heaven, as I am a driven creature of habit. So, being the tea and coffee addict that I am, here are some great drinks to get as a break from the merciless midterm weeks to come!

Oat-milk Cappuccino from Blue Bottle Café (22 Broad St)

If you are close to me in any way, you know that I go here every Friday to get my cup of metaphorical gold coins, saying: “YAY, here is your reward for making it through the week… go have fun!” No, but, seriously, this is my favorite cappuccino in the city, definitely try it out!

Chai Latte with Almond-milk from Takahachi Bakery (25 Murray St)

A chai latte cures just about anything for me, whether I am stressed or angry or hurt, one sip of cinnamon heaven completely lifts my spirit, making this the ideal midterm break getaway! Being the chai addict I proudly am, this bakery happens to have the perfectly balanced chai with just enough sweet and spice. Check it out for some other great baked goods, too!

Honey Badger Cold Brew from Gregory’s (42 Broadway)

This one was a must, especially since not everyone wants a hot drink even in the midst of winter. I used to get this drink all the time when living in Brooklyn over the summer, and, oh my, it does wonder for my energy levels. The perfect pick-me-up to get your motivations for studying back up, while tasting the creamy, yet bold notes of true love (in my opinion).

Pumpkin Spice Latte from REMI Flower & Coffee (906 Second Ave)

I recently tried this coffee/flower shop and it is a MUST! I know fall is long behind us, but this PSL is a delicacy, along with the beautiful latte art and flowers surrounding you to really reset your mind.

Espresso Sipping Ganache from Starbucks Reserve Roastery (61 Ninth Ave)

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery is an experience in itself that all should most definitely take advantage of. Additionally, this drink is my saving grace. The dark chocolate poured over the bold notes of an espresso shot cannot be topped, and you will be set to study hours happily!!!

Hope these favorite drinks of mine in the city inspire you to take a break from your notes, go outside, and get re-energized. Happy studying!!! Stay warm!
