Dreading this moment for a while
I throw on my heavy winter jacket
I force myself to go outside into the cold
Hoping the snow storm will be harmless
I hate feeling the wind against my face
I can’t zip up my jacket any higher
My hair now tousled from this breeze
Frosty weather makes everything a mess
My uncovered neck causes me to shiver
I wrap my scarf around three times
It is so cold that my feelings fade
Digging my hands into my pockets
I quickly move my legs out of here
Feeling my snow pants engulf me
Desperate to return to a warm haven
I just want to leave the cold
Just a nice, comfortable home
And a mug of peppermint hot chocolate
