The smile almost seems

fake

It seems as though they are programmed to say

“I’m fine”

The perfect skin

No acne insight

The perfect light-colored eyes

that glistens with the sun

The perfect hair that

bounces like a pogo stick

with every step

The perfect “hourglass” figure

that every model seems to have

They looked human but functioned as machines

Little girls want to look like them

but why?

Why can’t a girl

have a little acne?

Why can’t a girl

have dark-colored eyes?

Why can’t a girl

have straight hair that is

as stiff as a board?

Why can’t a girl

 be called

Beautiful

for these

“Imperfections?”

They looked human but functioned as machines

Because of this

little girls are diagnosed with

Anorexia

Because of this

little girls have

low-self-esteem

Because of this

little girls don’t know what real beauty is

because magazines photoshop

every celebrity they can get their hands on

Because of this

little girls put on a fake smile

and say

“I’m fine”

even though they are breaking on the inside

They looked human but functioned as machines

because that is every model in the media

today
