Many people are aware of the overwhelming amount of attention TikTok has gotten in the recent year. Many people are just addicted to the quick entertainment that comes from the short condensed videos. With endless videos found on everyone’s “For You” pages, it’s hard to get off the app. In a generation where fast and accessible entertainment is so significant in our lives, TikTok is the perfect place for people to waste their time.

With that being said, TikTok has also created a lot of opportunities for so many people. Especially new musicians that are trying to make it in the industry. I have found some of my new favorite musicians through TikTok. It’s very easy for people to get their name out there and share their sound with the world. Here I will share four recent artists that have blown up on my TikTok that I am happy to have added to my playlist.

1. Devon

Devon’s song “I DONT WANT 2 B UR FRIEND” blew up on my TikTok so wildly. It seemed like every time I logged onto the app his song was playing. As soon as I heard it, I knew I had to add it to my playlist. It is one of my most streamed songs now. After finding this song, I listened to the other songs he has on his Spotify, and I was completely blown away. Every song is such a bop that really brightens my day. His newest single “WHY DO WE WAKE UP? (BEFORE THE GOOD BIT)” is so good as well. He’s also interactive with fans on Twitter which is really heartwarming. You can tell he appreciates every single person who supports him. You really won’t be disappointed if you give Devon a listen!

2. Jacob Noah

It was, literally, impossible to get away from Jacob Noah on my TikTok. Every second he would come up promoting his new song that he was in the midst of writing. I was there for every TikTok that he made with the process of creating his newest song, “If It Wasn’t (For You).” Being there through the whole process was so enlightening. I was anticipating this song for so many months (seriously like so many). He only gave a small portion of the song as a spoiler in his TikToks, so I wasn’t sure if the rest of the song would hold up to the 30 seconds he had shown. This song came out November 20, and I have not stopped listening to it since then. It definitely lived up to its potential and I was not disappointed at all. There was even a little surprise in the middle of the song that no one was expecting (but I won’t spoil it for you). I highly recommend checking Jacob Noah out.

3. Mxmtoon

Mxmtoom, also known as Maia, was the first new artist I actually found out about on TikTok. She had a prominent following before TikTok, but I had only heard about her when one of her songs blew up on my FYP. Her song “prom dress” had almost 500K videos made on the app, making it almost impossible to avoid. I immediately wanted to check out the rest of her music as her voice was just so soft and sweet sounding, even though the content of the music was not light hearted and was actually quite deep. Her music is really good to vibe out to and gives off very calm vibes. She has quite a few songs to choose from, so it’s really hard to pick a favorite. I genuinely have not found one that I dislike from her whole Spotify. She’s just very talented. She also streams on Twitch just chatting with fans and, sometimes, playing video games with other streamers. Just all around good vibes from Maia.

4. Clinton Kane

Apparently, Clinton Kane is not a new artist for a lot of people. I’ve heard good things about him, but never gave him a chance until I heard his song come up on my FYP. Specifically his song “Fix It to Break It.” It was only on my TikTok, maybe, two times before I ultimately added it to my playlist. The TikTok I saw was just him playing his piano and singing the song acoustically. Clinton Kane sings with such strong emotions and it really made me feel things. It’s the same in every song he has. His whole discography is genuinely so good. He has a song for every type of music, from acoustic and indie, to electronic and pop. His voice is just phenomenal. I could not recommend Clinton Kane enough.
