Your Meal Prep Guide to Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Old Westbury chapter.

Maybe you’re the kind of collegiette who tries her best to be healthy but the sight of ice cream and french fries weakens your knees… Well then, this is the article for you! So you’ve tried to be healthy all semester long, or you actually have been good all semester long! However, the stress of reseach papers, finals coming up and all the crap you have to do leaves you no time to think about yourself. All you want to do is crawl under your sheets, eat an entire pizza pie and attack cookie dough ice cream right after. But you don’t want to do that! You have to stay on track. That’s why you clicked on this article in the first place.

Let’s start with the most important meal of the day! A yummy breakfast that is healthy and will help you start your day with plenty of energy.

A protein bowl for breakfast

My favorite is the chocolate smoothie bowl. It’s so good!  You won’t be able to help the joy you feel for the rest of the day.

Always freeze your fruits. Mix 2 bananas, one table spoon of cocoa powder, peanut butter (optional), maple syrup/honey and blend it, baby! Add the toppings of your choice and… Voila!

Snack

Pack your snacks for school. As collegiettes, we’re broke. Packing food to school is cheaper and healthier.  I love apple slices and peanutbutter!

Lunch

Pack your launch in a jar. I promise it’s easy. Just add the ingredients of a delicious salad to a jar, and always put the dressing at the bottom. When you ready to eat, all you have to do it shake it up…just shake it up! (Having a T Swift moment)

Invest in a Slow coocker for dinner

You may be gone all day but your food is cooking and it will be ready to eat when you get home. You don’t have to worry about the house burning down because that’s how awesome this gadget is. Dude! That thing is a life saver.

Good luck studying for finals collegiettes!
