A guide to survive Halloweek

Every college student knows how big Halloweek really is. It’s more than just the one night on Oct. 31. It’s a whole week of parties, costumes and very little sleep. Here is a guide to help everyone from a freshman who has never experienced it, to a senior who’s going out one last time before they graduate.

Here’s what TO DO:

  1. HAVE FUN

  2. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR DRINK

  3. FIND A BUDDY BEFORE THE PARTY AND CHECK ON THEM THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT

  4. EAT BEFORE YOU GO

  5. POUR YOUR OWN DRINK OR WATCH IT BE POURED

Here’s what NOT TO DO:

  1. LEAVE YOUR GROUP

  2. DRINK TOO MUCH

  3. LET ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS LEAVE WITH SOMEONE YOU DON’T KNOW

  4. DRINK AND DRIVE

  5. ACCEPT A DRINK FROM A STRANGER

While Halloweek can be a really fun time, you have to be smart about it and make sure you are aware of your surroundings at all times. If you ever feel uncomfortable, call someone.

The following numbers are always there for anyone who may need them:

Norman PD: 911

OU Advocates: 405-615-0013.

From all of us here at Her Campus Oklahoma, we hope you have a fun and safe Halloweek.

I am a junior Broadcast Journalism major at OU! I honestly don't really know what I want to do when I graduate, but where ever I get a job and learn more about the industry. I am also a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority here at OU. I am extremely excited to help bring Her Campus to OU and I can't wait to see how this takes off!
