Running is a hobby that many individuals acquire. To Sevyn Morrow and Garrett Dugan, running is a passion.
In May 2016, the two both graduated from Bartlesville High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma whereĀ they were both āformer members of a running program that trained teenagers to run half marathonsā. Sevyn says that she has been running since 7thĀ grade, but did not take running seriously until 9thĀ grade. Garrett says that he has been running since 8thĀ grade. Sevyn has ran over 3,000 miles in total and has participated in over 50 5kās, 3 8kās, 7 10kās, 3 15kās, 7 half marathons, and 3 full marathons. Garrett has also ran over 3,000 miles in total and has participated in at least 40 5kās, numerous 8kās, 10kās, and 15kās, 9 half marathons, and 1 full marathon. Now Oklahoma State Freshman, the two have found themselves to be the founders of a spirit led, Christian running and bible study group here on campus called Still Running. The two state that within the group, the members ācome together to fellowship in the sport running and in studying the word of lifeā.
When asked, the two state that what strived them to start the group,Ā Still Running, was simply their love for running. After their time involved in the running program in Bartlesville ended due to the Fall 2016 semester at OSU, they said that they ādidnāt just want [their] love for running to end because [they] graduated high schoolā. So, they decided to make the group and name it Still Running because they are, in fact, still running. The name is also a play on words due to the fact that they live in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They explain that their goals within the group for the future are āto train and run a half marathonā as early as next semester and āto grow in sizeā.
Still Running currently has around ten members andĀ they plan on growth within the next years to come.
If you are interested in joining Still Running, the group can be found at the OSU XC Course where they usually runĀ Tuesdays and Thursdays.Ā Bible studies frequently occur Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm and they meet in front of Village F.

āBe open-minded and never put limits on yourself. We can become our biggest obstacle when we assume we cannot do something. I never would have thought Iād be a runner out of all things, but I am, and Iām glad Iāve ended up here. So, just take life where it leads you and be fierce, confident, and kindā. āSevyn Morrow
