Nobody saw this coming: coronavirus shutdowns. During spring break at Ohio University, our courses were moved online until the end of March with an added week of spring break. Things quickly changed and the remaining courses for the spring 2020 semester were moved online and students were asked to move out of student housing. Just like that my senior year was over. I had to move out of my dorm and have been taking my classes online. My commencement has been postponed and all I can do is hope that my full-time job after graduation will still be there for me in a few short weeks.
As for Her Campus here at OU, things have lulled for sure. We haven’t been posting as much content as our writers have to transition to living at home, doing work online, and taking care of their own physical and mental health. Our social media has consistently been active for those who want to see some fun and positivity during this time, follow us on Instagram and on Twitter.
When it comes to the future of Her Campus, there were many loose ends that I had to tie before I left campus. I made sure to give graduation cords to our amazing seniors, Dejae Wilkins and Darian Berdysz. As for my position, once applications were in, the amazing and talented Caitlin Hunt was picked to take the role of CC/President for Her Campus during the 2020-21 school year. During the next few weeks, I will ensure that Caitlin is trained and ready for all things Her Campus!
As for running social media and other positions during the following school year, applications will soon be released to apply and be chosen so stay tuned for more information regarding that!
