The Best Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Ad Campaigns

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

Although it’s still the dead of winter in reality, the fashion world is already transitioning into spring and summer. One of the first ways we can see this is through the Spring/Summer 2014 advertisement campaigns released by big fashion brands. Soon they will be appearing in most high fashion magazines and they feature some pretty high fashion figures too. New fashion adverts usually means high glamour, enviable clothes and usually some well known models and celebrities and these adverts definitely don’t disappoint.

Miu Miu has released an advertisement campaign featuring celebrities such as Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen and 12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o.

The Balmain fashion adverts feature singer Rihanna as their model.

Alexa Chung models for Longchamp in their latest campaign.

The Dolce and Gabbana advert follows the theme they have used for a few campaigns of fun Italian family scenes.

The shoe designer Stuart Weitzman has hired the iconic model Kate Moss, who recently turned 40, to model for them. They have used a simple black and white design with not much going on, but when Kate is your model you don’t need much of anything else.

The Burberry campaign features many models including the actor Jamie Campbell Bower. They use their iconic trench coats in their adverts and the recognizable Burberry pattern.

One of the most talked about ad campaigns when it was released was the Louis Vuitton campaign. This was because it is the last campaign with Marc Jacobs as creative director for the brand and he really did go out with a bang. He showcases his all black designs from the catwalk and features his inspirations such as Sofia Coppola, Edie Campbell and Gisele Bundchen.

Marc Jacobs once again uses a high profile celebrity in his own brand’s adverts. Miley Cyrus is featured sporting the newest collection by the designer. He has also featured her on one of his ‘protect the skin you’re in’ t-shirts and has dressed her for events such as the Met Ball.

DKNY have also followed a similar ad campaign using models to stand on customized taxis in the middle of New York City. They also use some very popular models including the model of the moment Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn.

Finally one of the best advertisement campaigns released was by the British Brand Mulberry and they have used Cara Delevingne in every advert. The adverts feature Cara with different animals showcasing Mulberry’s gorgeous bags.
