4-Ingredient Cocktails You Can Easily Make at Home

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

Bring Hockley home and impress your friends with these 4-ingredient, easy to make cocktails. Pitch in with your housemates for a bag of crushed ice and a cocktail shaker, and revolutionise your pre-drinks from here on out (and save some dollar too). No need to worry about exact measurements, just have fun with it and get creative. Cocktails + the girls = all you need to turn Friday into Fri-Yay.

Blackberry Mule

Muddle together blackberries and a tablespoon of lime juice; add one or two shots of vodka, and top with ginger beer and ice for a delicious twist on the classic mule. Shake and pour over crushed ice.

Ingredients:

  • Vodka

  • Lime juice

  • 5 Blackberries

  • Ginger beer

Elderflower Cooler

Mix a teaspoon of sugar and a shot of gin with one part cranberry juice and two parts elderflower cordial for a light and refreshing mix.

Ingredients:

  • Gin

  • Cranberry juice

  • Elderflower cordial/Shloer

  • Sugar

Passion Fruit Daiquiri

Everyone loves a daiquiri. If you have a blender and fancy making this one into a frozen cocktail, just mix together all the ingredients with crushed ice and blend to a relatively thick, but drinkable consistency. You can also just mash up passion fruit instead of using puree.

Ingredients:

  • Rum

  • Passion fruit puree

  • Lime juice

  • Sugar

Classic Mojito

No cocktail recipe list would be complete without the classic mojito. This one may be five ingredients instead of four, but an exception has to be made. Quarter half a fresh lime and muddle in a long glass with two teaspoons of sugar. Crush some mint leaves in your hand, run around the top of the glass and add them to the mixture. Add a shot of white rum, a little crushed ice, and shake. Top with tonic water and more ice.

Ingredients:

  • White rum

  • Limes

  • Sugar

  • Tonic water

  • Mint leaves

Cherry Amaretto Coke

Disaronno and coke just got a little better. Mix a shot of amaretto liqueur with one tablespoon of maraschino cherry juice and the juice of half a lemon. Top with Coca-Cola, a couple of cherries, and ice cubes.

Ingredients:

  • Amaretto liqueur

  • 1 Tablespoon of maraschino cherry juice     and cherries

  • Lemon juice

  • Coca-Cola

Rosé Lemon and Basil Spritzer

Why drink rosé on its own when you can make it into a cocktail? Muddle together several basil leaves and lemon juice in a glass. Fill with ice, and top with half rosé and half lemonade. Add a shot of vodka if you fancy something stronger, and add a few ice cubes.

Ingredients:

  • Basil leaves

  • Lemon juice/lemonade

  • Rosé

  • Vodka
