Finals season is in full swing. Typically, that means endless hours in the library, hardly any hours of sleep, and a countdown to when you get to leave for winter break. However, there are little things that Northwestern does to make the week a bit more enjoyable, or a list bearable. For a study break and some stress relief, don’t miss these events that are scattered throughout finals week!

To kick off the week, head to the Student Lounge in University Library between 2 and 3 p.m. to play with therapy dogs. Northwestern loves to bring animals to campus, and sometimes, you just need to pet a dog to make you feel a little more relaxed: Check out the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/898997996973795/

Later on Dec. 9, there will be grocery bingo in the Norris Game Room at 8 p.m. The winner gets a gift card to Whole Foods, which is, I assume, why it is called grocery bingo. For more information, check out the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/327286211418766/

Also on Sunday, both University and Mudd Libraries will have a midnight coffee bar with coffee, hot chocolate and tea for all students to sip on as they leave the library. Or, let’s be realistic, fuel their all-nighter. Check out the Facebook event for more information: https://www.facebook.com/events/1816910538431042/

On Monday, Dec. 10, there will be a healthy snack bar on the third floor in Norris. Everyone needs something to munch on while they’re studying, so you might as well make it something healthy. Check out the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/363716070866964/

Also on Monday, Northwestern is bringing mini horses to the Northwestern Room in Norris. This is a classic event for the school, and you will probably see these horses at NUDM and other events throughout the year. Arguably the best event of the whole week falls on Monday as well, and it is the five-minute massages that are given in the Book Nook of University Library from 7-9 p.m. Food and animals definitely release stress, but, in my opinion, nothing beats a quick massage. On both Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 10 and 11, the Northwestern University Student Organizations & Activities will be hosting stress relief activities on the third floor of Norris, in the SOURCE. It runs from 2 to 3 p.m. on both days. Check out the Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2105187526414975/

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, Norris will serve Late Night Breakfast at 11. Need I say more? Is there a reason anyone would not want to go to this? Check out the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/332783920846574/

Last but not least, on Tuesday, Northwestern will be giving out popcorn from 7-9 p.m. in the Book Nook of University Library. Popcorn is one of the best study snacks, hands down, so you don’t want to miss this: https://www.facebook.com/events/188924132047591/

Whether you are chilling with only final, or you are cramming for four, finals week is always stressful. There is little to do to help, but at least Northwestern is trying. Reward yourself with a study break this finals week; you deserve it.
