8 Amazon Finds to Help You Survive East Coast Winters

As winter sets in on the East Coast, city sludge, 4:00 p.m. sunsets and seasonal depression (hello vitamin D deficiency) become an unfortunate reality once again. Here are eight of my favorite Amazon finds that will hopefully help get you through yet another dreary East Coast winter.

  1. The Comfy, because it will change the way you warm your body.

Since its premier on “Shark Tank” in 2017, The Comfy has been popping up in closets across the country. I got mine two years ago after seeing it on TikTok, and it has quite honestly changed my life. 8:00 a.m. Zoom meeting? You can find me on the couch wrapped in this wearable blanket (with my camera off of course).

  1. This quarter zip to wear all day long, wherever you please.

The quarter zip that we all know and love is officially making its comeback. Pair it with jeans or leggings for class or put it on and curl up in your bed to watch the newest season of “The Crown” in between study sessions.

  1. These UGG chenille socks make coming home at the end of the day even more exciting.

When I get home from a long day of classes, my favorite way to unwind is to put on a pair of comfy socks and lay on the couch to read my book of the week (currently Prince Harry’s autobiography “Spare”). These ones by UGG are my favorite. Soft, thin and available in 10 colors, they’re a great choice if you’re looking for something to up your comfort level without breaking the bank.

  1. A big fat mug to fill with whatever warm beverage you’d like.

A mug is an essential part of any holiday beverage. It’s something big and warm to wrap your hands around as the weather outside dips below freezing. This one is top-of-the-line with a 5-star rating, and each mug has its own unique glaze pattern.

  1. This Carhartt beanie to keep your ears from falling off.

Beanies are something that are constantly in my winter rotation. With 34 color options and a $20 price tag, the Carhartt beanie is a must-have for anyone with ears prone to going numb during the early morning walk to class.

  1. This sweater set to make you feel like your bougiest self.

There’s nothing that makes my life feel more put-together than matching pajama sets. I love this one because I can throw on leggings and wear the top as a sweater when I run across the street to Whole Foods. I also wore this as an outfit on vacation one time, and it was the comfiest outfit of my week.

  1. This pashmina-esque scarf to serve Christian girl autumn all winter long.

I love a scarf that doubles as a shawl. If you ever have the chance to check out the Boston Symphony Orchestra (which I highly recommend), this is the perfect addition to your outfit to dress it up while still staying insanely comfortable. It’s neutral enough to add to any outfit while still adding something interesting to the look.

  1. A throw blanket, because you can never have too many.

As the temperature slowly drops, the number of layers on my bed slowly increases (a negative relationship, as my high school economics teacher would say). This blanket is big enough and soft enough to always earn a place on your bed, and the only downside is that it might make getting out of bed in the morning just a little bit harder.

Happy shopping!
