Self-Care Night Guide For College Girls

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New Paltz chapter.

Every now and then, everyone needs to indulge in a self-care night; sometimes things just get too stressful and you need to take an evening to yourself. Here is a guide if you feel that you’re in need:

1) Take a nice hot shower.

  • After a long, stressful day, the first thing we all dream about is that shower at the end of the day. Of course we shower to get clean, but sometimes we just need the time to ourselves. When we are in the shower no one in our dorm room or suite can interfere. Sometimes shower time may be a time to sing on the top of your lungs or a time to get a good shower cry in to relieve all the stress from the day. Regardless, a good hot shower will start your self-care night off right

2) Throw on some comfy pajamas.

  • After a day of being in uncomfortable clothes, the first thing you want to do is change into your favorite pair of pajamas. Throw on some comfy fuzzy pajama pants or shorts and an over-sized shirt to get into that comfy zone.

3) Nail time!

  • There’s nothing like freshly-painted nails to make you feel great! There’s nothing more relaxing then stroking paint on your nails and giving yourself a nice make-over. It’s a two-for-one: you get pretty nails and a nice relaxing task that puts you in a good mood.

4) Face mask relaxation!

  • Time for everyone’s favorite refresher; a face-mask! Face-masks make you feel good as new. It leaves you with a fresh, clean, relaxed feeling and helps keep you relaxed for the rest of the night.

5) Netlfix & Chill time

  • The greatest way to end the night is to bundle up in bed and Netflix & chill. This is the best way to wind down from a stressful day. You get lost in a show of your choice and forget about any responsibilities for a night!

I hope you enjoy this guide to a stress-free night! Try it out; trust me, it is so worth it!
