Meet Campus Cutie Couple Jake Eckert ’17 and Savannah Dominguez ’17!

How did you meet?

SD: We first met through a mutual friend and we happened to live in the same building. He was very intimidating at first but we eventually started talking and all was fine.

JE: She lived a floor above me in Winchester last year, and we met through mutual friends.

Who initiated the first kiss?

SD: I’m pretty sure Jake initiated the first kiss. 

JE: I’m pretty sure I did, I think she was on the phone at the time.

How long have you been dating?

SD: We’ve been seeing each other for over a year.

What has been your most memorable date?

SD: The weekend we went to Rhode Island! We stayed over night, went to a drive in movie and the beach.

JE: When we went to Rhode Island! We rented a hotel room and went to the beach and did other things all on our own like real adults.

What is your favorite thing about your significant other?

SD: My favorite thing about Jake is that I always feel safe when I’m with him.

JE: I can trust Savvy with anything and in any situation. 

Who said “I love you” first?

SD: I said I love you first. 

How do you resolve arguments?

SD: Depends on what we are arguing about, but usually, we have to talk about the problems a couple times before we can figure out a solution.

JE: What arguments?

Do you have any advice to give to new couples?

SD: Literally communication is the key, you can’t thrive or grow or change without it.

JE: Just be honest with each other, it makes things much, much easier.

What celebrity couple are your “goals?”

SD: I personally don’t have a celebrity couples goal because I’m used to hearing one of my friends say we’re her goal.

JE: Pffftt, celebrities look at US for goals.
