1. Why A&T?

I chose A&T because I went to a predominantly white high school. My social life at this school was horrible and I needed a change of scenery in order to grow as an individual.

2. How did you get involved with Her Campus?

Initially, I came to a Her Campus meeting with my friend just to show support for a newer organization. I have been part of it for a year now and I really enjoy it.

3. What makes you special? What are you into?

I do not believe anyone is special in this world of seven billion people but, as an individual I value pushing the boundaries creativity and originality through combining influences. This means that I do not want to invent the next wheel, I want to make a better wheel. This analogy goes for any of my creative endeavors. I produce music, sing, rap, write, DJ, model, style, direct, and draw. Some call me a renaissance man. When I’m not making music or drawing I’m probably developing a new concept or in class.

4. What’s your style? Would you consider yourself a hipster, preppy, trendy, etc.?

My style is an extension of my psyche. In my mind, my style does not fit into a label, but I’m typically seen in streetwear. So, I would say I have a fashion-forward street style. I love streetwear because I had to wear uniforms in schools as a child and my parents were restrictive with what I could wear. So, when I got to A&T and saw everyone’s individual style, I was amazed and inspired to create my own. I try to take everything that I like in everyone else’s style (especially women’s fashion) and flip, re-arrange, or combine it to make it my own.

5. Tell us more about yourself.

As a creative, I feel like my life is my work. My main goal is to commit to a cohesive and consistent aesthetic. I want to push that into everything that I do, in order to become the greatest artist I can be. My visual art influences are Virgil Abloh, Sol Lewitt, Donald Judd, Dan Flavin, Jean Michel Basquiat, Andy Worhol, ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, ‘Pulp Fiction’, and Keith Haring. My musical influences are Pharrell Williams, Prince, Kanye West, and southern hip hop from the 90’s and early 2000’s. These influences are present throughout all of my work and I try to cross reference all of them; in order to create a consistent aesthetic throughout my work (i.e. visual, music, modeling, styling). Whenever I create, I think about what can be taken away from my work for other people to love and make their own. I am a queer creative and I’m just here to influence people like me. All I had was Frank Ocean and we need more representation. Ever since I started rapping, recently I felt a pressure to suppress my sexuality subconsciously but now I embrace it because if I don’t love myself then no one will truly love me.
