Leaping into a new year requires new command. Let’s see who we have behind the scenes of Her Campus this year!
Alexis Hooper, a senior Biology student from Charlotte, North Carolina serves as our Her Campus President for the 2018-2019 school year. Alexis has served on the executive board since its founding in 2015 in several positions including Events Director and Vice President. She also serves in various roles on campus outside of Her Campus, one of the most important in particular as the President of the Residence Hall Association. As we progress through the semester we wanted to introduce you to the faces behind this years publication.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from serving on the executive board?
Being apart of this team has taught me patience and the purpose of remaining goal oriented. Her Campus is like working an assembly line with several parts, each stop on the assembly line serves a fulfilling purpose to create an masterpiece. I have seen that in each person I have had encounters with throughout my duration here with HC. Everyone brings something unique and figuring out everyone’s talents is a challenge but teaches you to also adapt and resourceful to complete the end goal.
What is something not many people know about you?
Unless you have had the pleasure of spending time with me, a lot of people do not know that I am currently obsessed with the show “F.R.I.E.N.D.S”. I find myself watching it in between class periods, before bed, or during any down time.
If you could relive one moment in your life what would it be?
If I could relive any moment in my life it would have to be the time I fell down a flight of stairs in front of my elementary school crush. A huge part of me feels like that very moment created the foundation for my terrible conversational skills with guys. After I fell I ran away and tried to stop him from helping me up from the fall. I was so embarrassed.
What more can we expect from Her Campus this year?
This is a year of restructuring and rebranding, be on the lookout for our campus events and new features to the site!
