Senior Spotlight: Maria Ponomarev

Maria Ponomarev is a senior at Manhattanville College. She majors in Psychology with a self-designed Cognitive Behavioral Neuropsychology minor as well as a French minor. On campus, you can catch her playing her violin in the chamber ensemble and orchestra. She also has had various jobs around campus including orchestra manager, an SI and Tutor, and now a tour guide for admissions and a research assistant within the psychology department. She is also the President of Psych Honor Society Psi Chi. When asked three words to describe herself she used hardworking, motivated, and caring. After graduation, she plans to attend Grad school “(fingers crossed)” for a PhD program in clinical neuropsychology. Here are some fun facts about Maria!

 

What has been your favorite part of studying abroad?

She really enjoyed traveling and having the opportunity to see seven countries (France, Monaco, Spain Italy, UK, Hungary, and the Czech Republic) and over 15 cities (Montpellier, Paris, Grenoble, Nice, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Milan, Bergamo, London, Budapest, Prague etc.).  

 

What is your favorite book/play(s)?

“I like a lot of books…The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, As You Like It by Shakespeare, and The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis… to name just a few.”

 

What is your favorite food/drinks(s)?

“Coffee and Earl Grey Tea. Anything with cheese”
