Are you still stuck in summer? Are you trying to avoid army green and combat boots? Me too! Fall is my favorite season, but I’m still stuck in summer. I’m still searching for a hot day to hit up the beach one last time! Luckily, it’s very easy to help change your mindset into fall. Here are some tips for all of my summer stuck readers out there.
- Surround yourself with fall scents. Recently, my bath mate started having this pumpkin spice candle in her room and it sneaks into the bathroom. Every time I walk in, the scent helps me feel cozy and reminds me of fall. Grab yourself some candles or scent pods. My favorite candles are from Bath & Body Works and I love the scent Leaves or Farm stand Apple! Both remind me of fall and smell amazing!

Bring in layers one step at a time. One day I stepped outside in shorts and it was freezing! I realized then and there I should of worn jeans, a light cardigan or sweater. If you’re avoiding longer sleeves, light jackets or long pants, try one at a time! Start wearing a pair of jeans every couple of days or throwing a cardigan over your t-shirt. Don’t stress about it being a fall color. Just as long as you wear it, your mind will get the hint and then gradually you can get into dark colors.
-
Change your beauty routine. If you’re a makeup lover like me, this is a HUGE tip! I can feel the difference between wearing a summer bright pink and a dark vampy purple lipstick. Maybe challenge yourself to wear a dark bold lip randomly one week. Believe it or not, it helps! If you’re more into styling your hair, go for a braid! Personally, the fishtail braid is my fall go to.
-
Encourage seasonal foods. Yes, maybe you need to just cave in and have a pumpkin spice latte. Try to eat a bit of your favorite fall treats! Remember, a lot of seasonal favorites aren’t around for long! My personal favorites are apple cider donuts or apple bread. They both get me into the season and they taste amazing!

Decorate your room. Sometimes we need a change in our own space to feel seasons! If your room has summer vibes, it’s time to say goodbye. Add some cute decorations that resemble fall. I love leave garlands or cute little pumpkins to keep around the room. You’d be surprised by how quickly your own space can shift your mood!
