There’s only one guy walking around campus with a straw hat on his head and his hands filled with camera equipment. You might see this individual and wonder, “who is he?” His name is Arori Clay Bukner.

Arori Buckner is a senior who hails from Orange County, New York that has a knack for helping people and has a mind filled with unique ideas. With this combination, it’s no wonder why he’s an international management major. A person from the outside looking in would probably think that he’s a digital media major with a camera being in his hand 70 percent of the time. This is because Arori isn’t the kind of guy to limit himself to one subject or clubOne of the reasons why you probably see this guy everywhere is because he is everywhere! Throughout his experience here at ManhattanvilleArori has participated in a variety of activities from organizations like UNICEF to clubs like the film club. His involvement in these clubs happen either when his friends invite him to participate in the club or help out. “I’ve been here and there because friends have invited me to help them in their clubs or be a part of their clubs.” His accommodating tendencies paid off with him becoming a jack of all trades.

As far as hobbies go, when I asked him what his hobbies were, I expected him to give me a simple answer like swimming, riding a bike, or playing baseball, but instead Arori decided to give me a little lesson on his rule of three theory. His “rule of three theory are the three kinds of activities that he believes can sustain a person’s health and happiness. The first rule is that you need a hobby for recreational purposes.   “Something that’s for you yourself that you can like meditate upon.”  His meditative activity is listening to music. He says he gets lost in music. “Sometimes I get lost into music, with no goals or anything, I just be listening to music and then one song reminds me of another song then another, so I just make playlists on the spot, and then I just drop everything I’m doing and I’ll just literally listen to music for like 2 to 5 hrs.” For his second rule, he says that a person needs an active hobby so that they can keep healthy and stay in shape for as long as possible. “Something that’s just fun and engaging to do. For Arori, his active hobby is fighting. He loves watching MMA and boxing with his friends. The third rule is that you need a hobby that will keep you productive “something that doesn’t feel like too much of a burden to do, but at the same time your real world aspirations don’t come to life but is something for you to fall back on and create a living for yourself.” His productive hobby is media production, and working with artists trying to promote their expression while having fun with his own.

This is probably his most prominent activity and also the reason why you see him walking around with his hands willed with camera equipment. Arori helps a lot of artists on campus out in whatever way he can. As for why he wanted to help artists, he says that he’s good friends with a lot of artists and he’s around a bunch of artists most of the time who do a wide variety of things. Because of this, he got to witness them create their art and he gained a lot of incite from thisThe artists who he associates himself with are Cathrine Poarch, Roberto VelasteguiMike Joyce, Mikael JaworskiAundre Blue, Grant Pilson and a lot more. He wants to create an artist guild at Manhattanville or a promotional platform that creates more unity within our collage community. His appreciation for art lead him to do this. “It was a way for me to step deeper into the realm of artistry and management” he says.

When asked if there was anything else that he would want Her Campus to know about him he said that he wants people to know that he has a genuine heart If I say I care I actually to, I don’t be lying to people about that stuff” he says.

Arori Clay Bukner is a humble man with a big heart and a unique mind filled with a bunch of ideas that has the potential to one day impact the world.
