Why You Should Use a Bullet Journal

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

Do you love to make lists and have tons of them laying around or in your phone? Do you love your planner? Do you love doodling and being creative? If so, then you need to start a bullet journal ASAP.

A bullet journal is a mix of a planner, calendar, to-do list, diary, food tracker and more — basically, you can put together a whole jumble of things and make it your own. It’s called a bullet journal because you generally write things in bullets and list-form. It can help you keep track of everything in one place, instead of having a separate planner, calendar or to-do list. Buzzfeed has a good article explaining it, here.

When I first read about bullet journals, I wasn’t sure what to do — but I love planners and to-do lists, so I thought I’d give it a try. I don’t think I’ll ever go back. In mine, I have a habit tracker, a food tracker and I write daily gratitudes and what I have to accomplish each day, among other things. It is a way of putting everything in one place and keeping track of your thoughts.

Bullet journals are also a great way to get creative. You can have doodling pages decorate every page or create cute layouts and fonts. The possibilities are endless.

If you want to start organizing everything in your head and keeping track of everything you do in your life, start a bullet journal. You won’t ever go back!
