Every so often, you might feel stuck in your life, whether that’s with your passions, with school, with your future, and much more. Here are some tips to help you get back on track:

Figure out what’s causing you to feel stuck.

Like I mentioned before, there are a lot of things that might make you feel stuck. Maybe school is feeling more and more impossible. Maybe you’re trying to figure out who you are and what makes you happy. Maybe you feel lost because you don’t know what you want your future to look like. Whatever the reason, if you figure out what’s causing you to feel stuck, you’ll have a much easier time trying to solve it.

Spend some time doing what you enjoy.

Passions and hobbies can give you a much-needed break from whatever is stressing you out. Sometimes, some time away is all we need to sort things out. Not sure what you’re passionate about? Join some clubs and get involved! Clubs and other extracurriculars can give you a better sense of what you like, and if you’re struggling with figuring out your future, they might help point you in the direction of a future career path!

Make a vision board.

Because it is a concrete representation of your hopes and aspirations, a vision board forces you to think about what your goals are and what you want out of life. There are so many different formats for a vision board, so figure out what works for you! Personally, I set mine as the background of my laptop screen — I find that constantly looking at it helps keep me grounded and reminds me of what my end goals are.

Prioritize your happiness.

A big factor in feeling stuck is your happiness. If you aren’t happy, you won’t feel as motivated and will feel more drained and exhausted. Take this time to reflect and cut out the things that you don’t enjoy, whether that’s a club, commitment, or relationship. Don’t be afraid to make big changes and reevaluate major aspects of your life — if you’re happy in the end, it’ll be worth it.

Make a game plan, and ask for help if you need it.

Now that you’ve figured out what’s causing you to feel stuck and have ideas on what you can do to combat it, put it into action! Figure out how exactly you can get yourself out of this rut. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it at any step in the process, whether that’s figuring out why you’re stuck to trying to do something about it.

It’s completely normal to feel stuck, but that doesn’t mean that you have to be stuck forever. The most important thing to remember is that you’re not alone. Reach out to friends or loved ones — chances are they’ve felt the same way at some point and are maybe even feeling that way now. Talking about your experience can help you realize that this is temporary and that you will find your way out eventually.  I hope these tips help you remotivate yourself and get back on track!
