“The Office” is one of my favorite shows and I’m currently rewatching it, so I thought I would rate some of the characters for fun. This is all based on my own opinion of these characters, and I will not be covering any characters past season seven. I also won’t be giving the characters numerical ratings; I will only be giving my opinions.

Dwight Schrute

He is the best character in this show by far. Dwight is the reason why “The Office” is so funny. Without him, there would be nothing. Jim would have no one to prank, Michael wouldn’t have his sidekick, and overall, the show would be so much quieter and arguably boring. Dwight has the most iconic scenes, my favorite being the entire “stress relief” episode. Plus, he has a more iconic personality. I love how he cares about Pam, even though he doesn’t show it, and how loyal he is to Michael. I think he and Angela are a perfect couple as well. Although, I will say he is weird sometimes; some of his comments are meh. Overall, I love his character and he is the best on the show – except he should not have killed Angela’s cat.

Michael Scott

Next is the whole show itself, Michael Scott. I have a complicated relationship with Michael, because about 40% of the time he is actually being funny, and the other 60% he is making a bad joke. He is a hit or a miss for me, although the show would not be the same without him. Case in point, seasons eight and nine weren’t the same without him in charge. I do think his departure was a good idea, however, since the other characters got a chance to shine and we didn’t get the same rundown jokes anymore. I have to give him credit for the iconic Britney Spears scene remake and him running his own car in a lake. Iconic.

Jim Halpert

I hate Jim. I will admit it and I will say it proudly. Most of his pranks on Dwight are mean and he never cares about anything. There are so many times that he doesn’t stand up for Pam because he is scared of confrontation. I also think he cheated on Pam, but that’s a theory for another time. I don’t want to give any more of my time to him. He is a pathetic loser.

Pam Beesly

Pam is so iconic, but she is a hypocrite. She is portrayed as the nice one in the show, but she does some mean stuff too. Also, she’s kind of crazy for asking Phyllis to switch her shampoo while she was pregnant. Like ma’am, I get that you’re pregnant, but you can’t ask someone to switch their shampoo, that is just crazy. Besides that, she deserves better because Jim never stands up for her. He just sits there while people sexualize her. Also, the show itself did Pam dirty because she never got to have her dreams, even though Jim got to have his. Pam deserves better on all accounts, and she needs to leave Jim, that is all!

Jan Levinson

Honestly, I don’t know why I put Jan on this list. All I have to say is she’s crazy but real. If I was her, and Michael screwed me out of millions of dollars for a job that doesn’t care about him, I would have ended up in jail. Also, she was certainly in love with her receptionist, who was so young. Creepy. And I hate her baby’s name. Bye.

Erin Hannon

Erin, Erin, Erin. I don’t mind Erin, I just don’t understand her sometimes – like when she broke up with Andy because he was married before. I agree that Andy should have told her, but I do think she made it into a bigger deal than needed. Overall, she is mid.

Kevin Malone

Literally no thoughts on Kevin except he needs to keep his thoughts to himself. Justice for the chili.

Andy Bernard

Andy annoys me. Right now, in the beginning of season eight, I don’t mind him, but how do you mess up your life in season nine so badly? Like why did the writers do that to him? I don’t get it. He lost Erin, his job, and his dignity. Justice for Andy because what was the reason?

Toby Flenderson

Toby keeps things real, but let’s not lie to ourselves and pretend we like him. He is so creepy toward Pam and it is gross. Toby needs to go!

Angela Martin

Angela is rude but she’s real. She doesn’t hide her rudeness like Pam does, which does not excuse it, but at least she isn’t a hypocrite. She does need to chill, though, because she does too much. Also, she needs to stop being so attached to her cats, it’s concerning. And what she did to Andy was so messed up, yet I will say that she and Dwight are perfect for each other.

Stanley Hudson

Stanley is Stanley.

Ryan Howard

Ryan starts off as nothing, then annoying, then sad, and then a millennial. It fits him.

Holly Flax

Holly is a more censored version of Michael. They are perfect for each other.

Kelly Kapoor

Kelly is me. I am Kelly. We want the same things in life: attention, money, and a rich, handsome husband. I love Kelly, she is an icon, and Ryan does not deserve her at all. Kelly is my soulmate, and we will be together in another life.

Meredith Palmer

Meredith is scary sometimes and needs rehab. She needs more respect for herself and she deserves better.

Gabe Lewis

I don’t know why Gabe is on this list. He is a major weirdo.

Phyllis Lapin-Vance

Phyllis is funny . . . sometimes. She is rude and mean a lot when it is not necessary at all. Other times, she is just a cute old lady. No more thoughts on her.

Oscar Martinez

Oscar is what I fear about the workplace: Men who think they know everything. Oscar should be in finance. That is all.

Creed Bratton

Creed is iconic, although I am pretty sure he is the Scranton Strangler. Creed is me if I have to work in corporate America my entire life. He is messed up for getting the person fired after he made a mistake, but you have to do what you have to do I guess.

Mose

Mose is so iconic. There isn’t much to say about him except he is iconic.

Darryl Philbin

I saved the best for last. I love Darryl. He is funny while being respectful and nice. He isn’t an overachiever, but I wouldn’t be either if I worked that job. I’d love to work with Darryl; we would be besties.

To conclude, my favorite characters are Dwight, Darryl, Pam, and Creed, and my least favorite are Kevin, Toby, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, and Jim. I hate Jim (it needed to be said again). If you haven’t watched this show but are reading this list, I highly recommend giving it a shot.
