Hola!  Bonjour!  Ciao!  Guten Tag!  The study abroad fair is finally here.  Michigan State has an absolutely wonderful study abroad program, we are actually number one in the nation for public universities.  They offer a wide variety of classes in almost any country you could ever imagine.  Open to all undergraduate and graduate students, the program allows students to work in diverse environments with fellow students and professors from all around the globe.

Michigan State University is notorious for their study abroad programs and their relations with countries around the world.  It has led the entire nation as one of the top schools for study abroad, and boasts some pretty impressive statistics.  There are over 275 programs in more than 60 countries around the globe.  Almost 3,000 students participate each year in the program and most spend more than just a semester abroad.

So why study abroad?  Students acquire valuable skills and experiences that they can apply not only in the their remaining academic careers, but also in future internships and jobs.  The professional contacts students make can help them figure out their future plans and develop international relations.  Also, students can gain more than just intellectual knowledge while studying abroad.  By developing their self-confidence and a stronger sense of their personal identity, students can gain knowledge of themselves and where they come from.  Study abroad can also help students to become less ethnocentric and more aware and accepting of other cultures and societies.

The success of this incredible program is credited to our amazing faculty and staff at MSU.  Their extreme dedication helps establish strong relationships with the universities foreign correspondents.  Study abroad is all about developing programs that can further foster student’s academic success and give them an experience and adventure of a lifetime.

To learn more about the program, you can check out Study Abroad Fairs that are held semesterly.  At these fairs, students have full access to faculty members to answer questions and talk about their exciting programs.  Check out the Office of Study Abroad’s website for any and all information regarding MSU Study Abroad.  Students can also pick up CAS study abroad flyers, and other informational materials for all study abroad programs at the Office of Study Abroad in the International Center.

Worried about the funds? The study abroad program provides scholarship applications for students worried about the expenses of the program.  So why not kill two birds with one stone?  Visit the foreign country of your dreams and earn academic credit at the same time while gaining an experience you’ll never forget.
