Last Minute Senior Bucket List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

We’ve seen the bucket lists that tell you to “sneak into Spartan Stadium,” “try all the flavors of ice cream at the dairy store,” and “study abroad!” Some of these tasks not only could land you a night in jail, but are not possible for every student.

With only three weeks left, and not wanting to go into a diabetic coma, we are bringing you a short bucket list to complete before you leave and call yourself a Spartan Alum.

1. STR (a.k.a. Straight to Rick’s)

And while you’re at it, go to Dublin, Harper’s, and PT’s. Stay out until last call, and just enjoy the East Lansing night life. Dance the night away and drink too many vodka cranberries, run into everyone you know, and stumble your way outside the bar and safely into a cab.

2. Drink a Long Island on the Peanut Barrel patio

Go have lunch—and a long island—with friends on a sunny afternoon. Sit out on the porch, relax, and people watch the Grand River street walkers.

3. Go to Rama & 1/2 off Dublin

Okay, you’re probably thinking,  “Does this whole list involve alcohol?” ..maybe! But, night life in EL is really great! Make sure to experience Rama on Thursdays at The Riv, and check out the Dublin establishment on Wednesdays. Both places are sure to be hopping, and have super awesome deals!

4. Take a photo with the Spartan Statue

This is pretty generic, but sometimes you just have to go with the flow! You’ll regret not getting this picture with your friends!

5. Study at the Union

Embrace the old lady perfume smell in the stairwells, grab a sugary drink at Biggby, and just soak up the studious atmosphere. If you’re a women, study in the Women’s Lounge. You’ll be surprised how relaxed, comfortable, and productive you will feel!

6. Get kissed in front of Beaumont Tower

So, urban legend has it, if you get kissed in front of the Beaumont Tower, you will forever be together. So, you may only want to do this if you are really serious about someone. Don’t take a stop there after a crazy night out!

7. Bubble Island

It is shocking the amount of students who have never had Bubble Island. It’s actually the best thing on a nice, sunny day! So, if you haven’t, walk on in and order a green tea with a splash of mango and some rainbow jellies!

8. Re-visit your freshmen dorm

So nostalgic. But, it is where it all began. There were so many memories inside those tiny walls, and sometimes it is nice to remember where it all began, and to know you are no longer that freshman. Knock on the door! Meet the little Spartans and give them your best piece of advise!

10. Tell a professor “Thank you.”

Sometimes they need to hear nice things too! Tell them how much you learned from their class, and how you appreciate everything they have taught you.

11. Stroll through campus and take pictures with friends

Self explanatory, and an absolute must. Take a picture outside the union, by the beaumont tower, that place you guys would go to study—but really just gossiped. Make sure to take a few pics in the buildings you spent a lot of time in, and your favorite spot on campus!

12. Late night Conrad/Mena’s

Nothing like eating greasy, late-night, drunk food to feel a part of the MSU community. If you’ve never had either, make a quick stop there before heading home next time.

13. Dairy Store

MSU makes their own ice cream! And, it’s really good. You have to at least take a trip (or two) to the Dairy Store before you turn your tassel. After all, it’s what a real Spartan would do.
