Jessica Kloosterman: RHA Treasurers and Allocations Director

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

We’ve all heard college is the best time of our lives. What no one tells you is it’s also the most stressful. One of the perks of going to Michigan State is the great movies playing every weeke on campus, awesome concerts and a slew of other events to help keep the stress levels down. RHA organizes these great events, and this campus celeb helps make sure it’s all possible.

Name: Jessica Kloosterman

Year:  Junior

Major: Finance

Title in RHA and what you do:

I am the director of treasurers and allocations of the Residence Halls Association (RHA). RHA is the on campus student government that is committed to continuously improving the on-campus experience at MSU. I help budget Accept Requisition Forms from student hall governments, supervise finance staff and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer of the Residence Halls Association.

When did you start working with RHA?

I started working at RHA Fall semester of 2012. I began as Finance Staff and then became DTA in May of 2013.

What made you get involved?

I had always wanted to get more involved on campus, and I saw that the Residence Halls Association was hiring for Finance Staff. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!

Favorite project?

I’m really enjoying training the Hall Government Presidents and Treasurers currently. It’s great to be able to interact with all the new and returning students.

 Favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus is without a doubt the Beaumont Tower.

 Favorite MSU memory?

Football Games—just seeing all the students come together and cheer on their team is a very powerful crowd to be a part of.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

I see myself being in the Finance Department at a big company. Hopefully in a big city—Chicago!
