This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

Name: Holly Manciero

Graduating: December 2013

Major: Advertising

Name of your position and your campaign:

Marketing intern working on the anti-bullying movement for Qwanz and Facebook.

Describe the campaign you helped out with.

See below

How did you come about this position?

There was a posting on MySpartanCareer.com and I applied for it!

What did you have to do for it?

I had to create proposals and viral campaigns to help raise awareness for the Facebook bully button. I also had to help identify how to translate its message and plan events on campus. In order to do this, I used social media to send out stories and messages, as well as created press releases for launches and information sessions.

How did having this position make you feel?

It makes me feel like I am truly making a change. Many times student do not feel they can address such issues, but this position lets you directly see the impact of your efforts.

How did you balance this with your schoolwork?

I treated this as another class. I wanted to give this as much focus and attention as I would any other. I felt the balance was not hard because it was something I was passionate about and cared about, so it never seemed to be too much work.

Are you still involved with this campaign?

Yes, I am still actively working on this campaign.

How would someone interested be able to get involved with it?

You can visit www.bullybutton.org to learn how to get involved or http://westophate.org/
