The saying goes that the book is always better than the movie, but sometimes, the movie turns out just as good. Here are the book-to-movie adaptations that are worth the watch:

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

This book is amazing and devastating at the same time. The Hate U Give covers so many important topics that everyone should learn about. It took me a while to get around to watching the movie, but once I did, it was totally worth it. All I can say is get ready to shed some tears!

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Ah, yes, the book everyone was forced to read in high school. While the book can be a tad boring at times— a matter of opinion, of course— the movie is actually quite good. Plus, Leonardo DiCaprio is in it. I don’t think any other reasons to watch it are necessary!

The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

The Harry Potter books are a huge childhood throwback, so they had a very large audience to please when it came to the movies. Every movie is beautifully done and very entertaining despite the length. It’s impressive to be able to keep a viewer’s attention for so long!

The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

Hear me out on this one. Although there are some cringy scenes, it’s hard to deny that these movies are thoroughly entertaining. The vibes this series gives off are absolutely unmatched.

Room by Emma Donoghue

This movie had my emotions all over the place. There were so many suspenseful moments, and it was so hard to look away. It’s one of those movies that gets its viewers so invested in it that they forget what is happening around them.

It’s always really cool to see your favorite books adapted into movies; there’s always something that one does differently than the other, and each has its own unique take on the story. I definitely recommend reading these books and watching the adaptations so that you can decide for yourself which one is better!
