Leaves start to fall, the weather starts to get cold and your date ideas start to dwindle. The possibilities of finding something fun to do in this increasingly cold weather seem close to none, but here is a list of dates that you can do with any special someone to keep the sparks in the crisp autumn air.

Visit a Winery (21+)

Visiting a winery can be a great place to experience a sit-down date like in the movies. You’ll sip on some wine, exchange opinions, eat great cheese, and create fond memories to talk about in the future. The best part is that you can get hammered for a limited price and no one can say anything about it! It’s a win-win situation.

Experience Big10 football

Watching football isn’t always the most exciting thing to do, but it can be turned into a fun activity with the right company. It gives you some time to spend together with little distractions (if you’re watching from home) or a great memory to share with family and friends if going to one. It’s even better if you both are rooting for different teams!

Carve a pumpkin

It’s a great idea to start prepping those Halloween decorations early, and what better way to prepare than with your partner? There is no better way to enjoy the holidays than admiring the staple decorations you made with the person you love. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to see both of your creative sides.

Go to the Zoo

Going to the zoo is always a fun idea! Getting to see all the exhibits, great photo opportunities and, most importantly, spending a day surrounded by beautiful animals and your partner. Some zoos host seasonal events, too: The Detroit Zoo hosted an extreme pumpkin carving in 2021 and has more events set up for this October.

Sip on cider

This date idea will start getting you in the fall mood and will act as a great start to the typical fall traditions. There are a variety of cider mills here in Michigan that offer different types of cider, such as strong or soft, and in some places, a variety of flavors.Just because the weather isn’t as warm and the sun doesn’t come out as often doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a date, especially outside. Sometimes a date doesn’t have to be something extreme or in the outdoors, it can be doing something different that you both enjoy!
