This summer I’m living in NYC, but I don’t know anyone. So, I decided to try Bumble Bizz. The great thing about Bumble is that you can change your location to places that you will be going so that you can connect with people in that area before you arrive. Right now, I’m stuck in Michigan, so this was a great opportunity to network with people that are in my field.

How does it work?

When you set up your Bumble Bizz profile you will be asked to fill out some basic information like job experience, education background, and why you’re on the app. Then there are some question prompts for you to answer, if you want, and you’re all set! Once you set up your profile you can start connecting with others. You swipe right for people you would like to talk to and left for people that are outside of your business interest. Then, once you get your first match you can message them to start networking!

My Experience

Through Bumble Bizz I was able to connect with many different people in the medical field which is perfect for a premedical student like me. I got to have a conversation with a premedical student and a medical student at my dream school. It was nice to get some advice from someone who is a position that I will be in before I know it. I was also able to connect with researchers, nurses, and scientists. The best part about this was getting to hear new ideas and perspectives. I think that Bumble Bizz is a unique opportunity for people to connect through.
