8 weekend things to do besides partying

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

We all know MSU is known for its great parties and wild weekends, but sometimes you’d rather give your liver a break and have some good, clean fun. Here are some things that you can do on your weekends other than partying:

1.     Visit restaurants: New restaurants are always showing up in East Lansing. Peppino’s recently opened behind Grand River and offers great food for super affordable prices!

2.     Shopping: Take a stroll down Grand River and stop into your favorites stores such as Urban Outfitters, American Apparel or even Moosejaw. You can find a great range of shopping options in the Lansing area!

3.     Visitor the art museum: MSU has just recently finished building the Eli and Edythe Broad Art museum. It has a ton of cool exhibits coming in and out of the museum and is free for students.

4.     Bowling at the union: Take a few friends to the Union and bowl for a few bucks. Bowling is always fun and the best part is that it is near you!

5.     Ice skating at Munn: Grab a partner and a sweater and take a few laps around Munn Ice Arena. Who knows, you may become the next Kristi Yamaguchi after a few visits!

6.     Game day: Although it is most known for its tailgating experience, skip that portion and get a great seat for the next football game! Standing in line earlier will get you better seats and you won’t have to worry about the hangover the next day!

7.     Visit the dairy store: There are a few dairy stores in East Lansing, but none compare to the original, homemade delicacies made at the MSU dairy store. Stop in Anthony hall or the Union to enjoy!

8.     Visit the MSU garden: Although the plants are probably going to perish soon, there’s still time to go and visit the garden before fall and winter hit completely. There are even some plants that are edible! See if you can find them!

Hopefully this helps when you want a little entertainment without putting a beating on your liver or your wallet!
