5 Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

Oh shoot, It’s the night before halloween and you have nothing to wear. We’ve all been there and done that. Do you go as a sheeted ghost and be basic? Or maybe a mummy. Everyone has some toilet paper laying around right? Perhaps a clown? Actually, we’ll save that for your ex. Don’t fret, there’s always something waiting in your closet to be thrown on for a spooky night out. These 5 costume ideas will save you from the horrors of un-festivity.

Chic Space Cowgirl

All this costume requires is a cowboy hat, bandana, and something shiny. Everyone knows that cowboy hats are the new accessory. This halloween you can rodeo up in something trendy. Try throwing on a metallic tank, or a sequined shirt. Pair those sparkles with some cool patterned pants or a shiny skirt. Don’t forget to add some glitter to your makeup look and there you have it, a space cowgirl!

Regina George from the film Mean Girls

Who doesn’t know the iconic Regina George? If you want to feel like the queen bee this Halloween, this costume is for you. All you need is a white tank, a black skirt, and of course a colored bra. I think you got this DIY under control. Last step, of course, is confidence or a burn book.

Girl Scout

Want to pass out bomb party favors while still being in costume? Maybe rock the girl scout costume. You’ll need a skirt, and some knee high socks. Don’t forget about the legendary green slash! Throw your hair into some pigtails and rock it! If you’re really looking to spice it up your look, add a green beret hat. Oh, and don’t forget the cookies!

Frat Guy

Okay, you have no excuse not to do this costume. Your dad definitely has a large button up shirt. Besides that all you need is a backwards hat, a red solo cup, and khaki shorts. Wanna add a special touch? Sperrys! This costume is comfy and a good laugh. Now you can pass the “who do you know here” test.

Fairy

All you need for this costume is a pair of wings, the rest is completely up to you! Whether you want to wear a dress, funky pants, or perhaps a skirt, wear whatever you want. Sparkly makeup is essential for the fairy costume, making the look DEWY.

Don’t stress! Everything you need to create a bomb costume is right in your closet. Tonight is your night to be spooky, but thankfully now your costume doesn’t have to be.
