5 Alcoholic Drinks that Will Get You In the Mood For Fall

What’s not to love about fall? It’s the time of scarf and sweater weather, pumpkin spiced lattes, Halloween festivities, and everything else that college girls can’t seem to resist. As if we need another reason to love fall, it is the perfect time to try out festive new drink recipes that embody everything good about the season. Here are five delicious alcoholic recipes that will be sure to warm you up on those chilly fall evenings.

1.  Sparkling Spiced Apple Cider

Ingredients

1/2 cup (100 grams) sugar

1/2 cup (125 ml) orange juice

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

4 shots chilled vodka

16 shots chilled sparkling cider

Directions

·  Combine the sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves in a small saucepan set over medium high heat.

·  Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is the consistency of syrup.

·  Strain through a fine mesh sieve. Allow to cool completely.

·  Use the syrup to rim 4 glasses, then dip the glasses into a sugar mixture (ex. Cinnamon sugar)

·  Add 1 shot of the syrup to each glass. Stir in 1 shot of vodka, then add 4 shots of sparkling cider per glass.

·  Stir gently and serve.

 

2.  Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Milkshake

Ingredients

2 cups vanilla ice cream

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup cream or half and half

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2/3 cup pureed pumpkin

1/2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs

2-3 ounces of bourbon

frosting + sprinkles (or cinnamon sugar) for glasses

· Add all ingredients to a blender and mix until combined

· Rim glass with light coating of frosting and then dip in sprinkles

· Pour in the shake and sprinkle cinnamon on top

· Add whipped cream if desired

 

3.  Caramel Apple Martini

1 oz vodka

1 oz sour apple pucker

½ oz butterscotch schnapps

Caramel ice cream topping

Directions

· Pour some caramel ice cream topping into a wide mouthed bowl and dip rim of glass      into the caramel

· Set aside and refrigerate until ready to serve.

· Mix ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake strongly

· Pour into martini glass using a strainer

· Add apple wedge or caramel apple wedge for decoration if desired

 

4.  Pumpkin Spice Vodka Shots

1 pumpkin pie (homemade or store bought)

Pinnacle vodka

Sugar

Cinnamon

 

Directions

· For every 1 cup of liquor, use between ¼ to ½ of the pie, 1/3 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a tablespoon of sugar.

· Pour all ingredients in a bowl and break pie down with spoon or blender

· Pour mixed contents into canned mason jar or two

· Let sit as long as possible (author let sit for a week, couple days will do)

· Use sieve and mix around until it begins to filter through, mixing with spoon

· When ready to serve, dip rims of shot glass into melted butter and roll in graham cracker crumbs

· Pour in pumpkin pie vodka, add whipped cream and sprinkle of cinnamon to top if  desired

 

5. Smirnoff Cinna-Sugar Spiked Chai Tea Latte

Smirnoff Cinna-Sugar twist flavored vodka

3.25 oz. of chai tea

0.25 oz. soymilk

Cinnamon stick garnish

 

Directions

· Mix vodka and chai tea in a tall ice filled glass

· Top with soy milk

· Garnish with cinnamon stick
