I’ve had issues with my skin ever since I was a pre-teen. I tried basically every over-the-counter product I could get my hands on and still needed to visit the dermatologist.  Nothing worked enough for it to be worth it.

When I started getting my period, I’d break out in huge, often painful pimples for a week each month. Naturally, I’d pick at my face all day long and try to pop them. I know that’s the worst thing I could’ve done, but I couldn’t (still can’t) help it. This went on for years, and occasionally I still find myself picking at my face if a pesky zit pops up. My mom and sister always say, “Stop picking your face!” whenever they see me doing it.

For some reason, my skin was really dry this winter, and I mean really dry. I couldn’t wear my powder foundation without it flaking off within an hour, so I realized I had to start moisturizing. I’d always been against using moisturizer because I thought it would make my oily skin worse, but spoiler alert: I was wrong.

In just a couple weeks of slathering my face with  Organic Rose Otto Night Cream by Organic Doctor, I noticed changes in my skin and so did my friends and family. I actually  received  it in one of my  FabFitFun boxes, so I didn’t even have to go through the trouble of finding the right product for me. This extra moisturization was exactly what my face needed. Applying it before bed is now one of my favorite parts of my nighttime routine for two reasons: I get to fall asleep to the faint smell of roses, and I get to wake up to super soft, moisturized skin.

Ever since I’ve started using this moisturizer each night, I no longer have a forehead full of tiny bumps and rarely have any larger pimples. I don’t even wear foundation —I started using a BB cream instead because I don’t need that much coverage anymore!

Moral of the story? Always listen to the people who tell you to use a moisturizer on your face, even if you think it’s not for you.
